About Yourself

I have recently returned from a lengthy teaching in stint in East Asia. My experience had been in EFL and now I am in Canada writing my dissertation focusing on ESL contexts.

I am currently interested in literacy as a social determinant of health. My specific area of interest is federal (Canadian) strategies for the promotion of health literacy amongst new arrival to Canada particularly those with a non-English L1 background. Also interested in strategies employed by ESL learners to acquire and improve their health literacy.
